Hello everyone. A while back I purchased the FapTurbo forex trading robot and made a few posts with preliminary performance results. After a period of testing I am confident that I have enough performance data to share with you all and to put together a review. As usual this review will be a zero bullshit review with actual forward testing performance results – we don’t need no stinkin backtests!
I am going to write this review keeping in mind forex newbies as well, so my apologies to those of you who are more advanced if some of the items I will discuss will strike you as one of those “whatever, I already know that” type of things.
Alright, so let’s get started with the review!
What is FapTurbo?
FAPTurbo is a forex trading robot (most commonly referred to by traders as an “Expert Advisor” or “EA”) for the popular MetaTrader 4 trading platform. Essentially fapturbo is a program that automatically trades for you – simple enough, no? OK, let’s move on.
Who created FapTurbo and how did it get started?
From my knowledge FapTurbo system was developed and is being maintained by a trio of traders – Mike, Ulrich, and Steve. FapTurbo has it’s roots in another trading system called “Forex Autopilot.” The FapTurbo developers essentially took the Forex Autopilot robot, made numerous improvements and branded the resulting product as FapTurbo. I will get into what improvements FapTurbo brings later on in the review.
Important things you should know about FapTurbo:
1 – FapTurbo uses 2 trading strategies, a long term strategy that runs on the EUR/USD pair and a short term strategy (scalper) on 4 other pairs. You can run both strategies on the same account.
2 – FapTurbo long term strategy runs on the EUR/USD currency pair on the M1 time frame.
3 – FapTurbo scalper runs on: EUR/GBP, EUR/CHF, GBP/CHF & USD/CAD on the M15 time frame.
4 – FapTurbo scalper trades during the briefly low volatility night European session (in EST that would be from 4 pm to 9pm roughly) Thus the scalper is not a frequent trader.
5 – Both FapTurbo strategies implement special filters to prevent trading in dangerous market conditions.
6 – FapTurbo scalper will NOT trade if the spread exceeds its reprogrammed value.
7 – Both FapTurbo strategies implement a stealth mechanism that hides the true stop loss and take profit levels from your broker, thus reducing the likelihood of stop loss hunting (yeah I know it’s sad but you’d be surprised how many brokers do this)
8 – FapTurbo can be used on an unlimited number of demo accounts but can run live on only ONE account at once. If you decide to switch to a different broker you have to e-mail FapTurbo support with proof that you’ve closed your previous account before they reset your activation key. Please keep this in mind! So choose live brokers wisely!
I think that pretty much covers all the important details. I may have forgotten a few items so I will add items later on if need be.
Now let’s talk performance! I know you skipped directly straight to this section 😉 !
Performance Results:
As I said previously FapTurbo uses two trading strategies, thus there are three possible combinations you can use – scalper strategy alone, long term strategy alone, or scalper & long term strategy running at the same time. In the interest of thoroughness I have tested all three possible combinations. Here they are:
Long term strategy alone (EUR/USD M1):
Using a Lot Risk Reductor setting of 1.0 (1% of account balance – very low risk)
*click the pdf icon to download*
Scalper strategy alone:
With the scalper I am using a Lot Risk Reductor setting of 1.5 (1.5% of account balance)
Both scalper & long term strategy:
Lot Risk Reductor setting for EUR/USD is set at 1.0 and for the scalper pair it’s set to 1.5 for all pairs. Thus I am using very conservative settings (hey it’s my money on the line)
There you have it folks, verifiable third part performance results. As you probably have noticed the scalper had a rough time the last week or so, but in the end it still netted me some nice profit. The long term strategy is also quite profitable but I’d say also more risky because the stop loss it uses is higher when compared to the scalper AND it also opens multiple positions at once. By default the long term strategy has a setting of 5 max open trades but if you want to trade a bit more conservative you can lower this setting. I would not suggest you do this for the reason that having more then one position can act as a protective hedge. FapTurbo long term opens BOTH short and long positions (buy & sell for the newbies) so having it trade with 5+ positions at once not only means more profit in the end but also greater protection from price spikes and strong trends. So like I said I suggest you leave the setting alone unless you really know what you are doing.
As for the scalper, it trades with only one open position per pair. It’s only protection from the market is a filter known as the “MaxHeightFilter” which uses candlestick analysis to dictate whether to open a position. There is also the spread filter I mentioned earlier in this review, but that’s more or less a “common sense” type of filter if you may. The scalper does NOT trade on Friday & Monday (European session time!) as these two days are generally considered “risky” by traders. Thus it leaves NO open trades over the weekend. The long term strategy on the other hand DOES. But you can turn this off if it makes you uncomfortable. The long term strategy also has a NFP (non-farm payroll news release) filter which can be set to either on or off – by default it is on so it WILL trade the NFP release.
Looking at the 3 performance statements you can see that the most profitable combination is using both the long term and short term scalper strategy. Personally I prefer the scalper strategy best because it seems to me the “safest” trading method. If you are going to use both strategies on the same account I HIGHLY recommend you double your starting account balance. Adjust your risk setting (LotRiskReductor) setting accordingly and do NOT exceed 10% of your account.
Ok, let’s move on to the final section section of this review and talk about this forex robot’s pros and cons:
What I like:
1) It’s profitable so far!
2) Easy to use and setup
3) Excellent filters that prevent the robot from trading in risky market conditions
4) Fairly inexpensive considering its profitability level
What I don’t like:
1) FapTurbo support can be slow at times
2) Being limited to only 1 live account per license
3) Expert advisor has an expiration date so you have to download a new copy every month – even if you don’t want to.
As for the support being slow, well, one way that you can get around this is to seek the help of other FapTurbo traders such as myself and others. I’ve put together a forum for all Forex Autopilot and FapTurbo traders and I recommend you come and join us. The forum has over 2000 fapturbo traders already so it’s definitely THE place to discuss all things FapTurbo related. Also the FapTurbo developers post regular updates on the forum as well. The link is:
http://www.forexautopilotforum.com
In conclusion, the FapTurbo expert advisor is a profitable forex robot that does exactly what it claims – make money. However please be realistic about this and don’t expect it to make you a millionaire overnight or to not have losing trades once in a while. The FapTurbo developers so far have been keen on releasing regular updates so as long as they keep at it this product should continue to remain profitable into the foreseeable future.
Having considered all pros and cons carefully I give FapTurbo a rating of 9.0 our of 10.
Rating: 9.0/10

This concludes my FapTurbo review. Thank you for your attention and for visiting my blog. I hope you come back again.
Happy trading!
Are the results live or demo?
Demo…live results are available on the fapturbo website…
On my live account I trade fapturbo in scalper mode only but I also use other EAs so there isn’t a clear way to differentiate between fapturbo’s performance and that of other EAs hence why I decided to post demo performance data as it would be cleaner that way.
For the most trades on the live account have mirrored those on the demo account except for a few occurrences where trades were missed due to high spread (on the live account) so if you’re going to use this EA it is VERY important that you find a broker with low and stable spreads on these pairs: eur/gbp eur/chf gbp/chf usd/cad
IBFX sadly enough doesn’t seem to fit the bit anymore so I’ll be moving my fapturbo live account elsewhere…yet to be determined where.
Go to the forex autopilot forum and see what brokers people recommend.

Dear Alan,
Thank you for sharing your Fapt result.
Just want to ask if you change the LRR for scalp strategy gradually or it stays at 1.5%.
I reviewed the size changed gradually and it’s because the MM works due to increased balance or…?
Regards,
Ayu
Nope, I don’t change the LRR. I keep it the same and will keep it the same. In fact if you start off with a large LRR setting I suggest you gradually DECREASE it as your account size grows. The idea is to protect your winnings as much as possible.
Yes, fapturbo will always use 1.5% or whatever of your account’s balance, hence the size of the lots will gradually increase as your account size grows.
My results using FAPTURBO36:
EUR/USD M1 Long term strategy: – $361.25 since 01/15/2009
Scalp strategy (Alpari UK)) $ 315.68 (01/12/2009)
Scalp strategy (FXDD) – $ 52.81 (01/12/2009)
So far, I am NOT impressed.
I suggest you demo test it for a longer term. You jumped in right in the worst period fapturbo has ever had. Also make sure you are using a reasonable LRR setting – do not go overboard and risk 20% or more…10% is the max in my book.
Anyways, don’t just take my word for it, visit the forex autopilot forum and find out other people’s performance results:
http://www.forexautopilotforum.com
Yep, that’s it. You simply set the “UseScalperStrategy” to “false” when you want to run the long term strategy (ie eur/usd) only and leave it to true when you want to use the scalper strategy – pretty simple.
Pip spread? Are you referring to the slippage? If so no I don’t mess with it. Only the eur/usd long term strategy has adjustable slippage (default is 5 pips). The scalper strategies have the slippage built in and can’t be adjusted. If the spread goes above a certain number (also preprogrammed) it simply won’t open trades.
for example the maximum spread for EUR/CHF is 5 pips
EUR/GBP – also 5
Oh, I didn’t know they were built in. Once again – Thanks!
You’re very welcome HK! Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
Alan, Hello. Decided to write you here instead of the forum this time. Quick question for you related to your results. When you run both scalper and long term, do you just click ‘false’ in the scalper properties when you open the eur/usd settings? Also, when you trade, do you ever adjust the pip spreads, by currency type? Or do you go with the fapt default settings for those? Thanks!
Alan, nice review but I will say your results are a little more rosy than they would be if you’d traded it live (as I know you know). I only hope next month is better.
Yes you are definitely right Paul. With some brokers there can be a noticeable difference between demo and live accounts. I’m running on IBFX btw. I do run live on IBFX with fapturbo but using ONLY the scalper strategy. The results are *almost* the same. By almost I mean my live account missed 4-6 trades due to high spreads.
I really hate it when brokers “filter” or “smooth” out their demo price feed.
My results using FAPTURBO36 (01/30/2009):
EUR/USD M1 Long term strategy: – $294.23 since 01/15/2009
Scalp strategy (Alpari UK)) $ 318.34 (01/12/2009)
Scalp strategy (FXDD) – $ 50.64 (01/12/2009)
So a slight increase (except for FXDD).
A slight increase is better than a loss, but it will take more time before you can safely say that you’re in the money.
Another thing that I’ve noticed that the broker you choose is VERY important with fapturbo – it’s all about spread, so performance varies from broker to broker.
Alan, I hate to ask technical questions here but I’ve been to both forums and can’t find the answer to this. I downloaded a new mt4 but cannot figure out how to get it to import fapturbo so taht it shows up in the EA window. The wizard is not running, like it did the first time. You said you had demo’s running in a few mt’s. How do I get fapturbo into an mt other than my first one? Thank you!
Download the fapturbo zip archive and copy the files in that archive to the proper locations of you NEW mt4 install. There is a video on the fapturbo members page that shows you how to install fapturbo from either the wizard or zip archive.
Hi Alan
On the Scalper only results, I notice you are trading at 0.1 Lot for a few days, which is in line with your 1.5% LRR. However, the lot sizes then jump to 3.0! However, your profits are more inline with a lot size of 0.3 at that point. Are you trading a Mini-Account, or is there another reason?
Thanks for the realistic review,
Richard
Yes I’m trading on a mini account. I forget now what the cause of fapturbo trading with only 0.10 lots was – I think it was either me manually setting it to 0.10, but most likely it was due to me upgrading fapturbo. I’ve noticed some inconsistencies as to how it calculates lot size. I noticed that after I upgraded to a certain version (maybe it was fapturbo 23 – I don’t quite remember exactly as I’m using the latest version now – 36) it would open up larger lot sizes and different lot sizes for different pairs.
So the best answer I can give you is that most likely the formula that fapturbo uses to calculate lot sizes has changed between versions.
Happy trading Richard! Also thanks for visiting my blog.
Hello Sir,
I have some remarks concerning FAB Turbo.
1) pc must run 24/7 costs 21$ electricity per week (about 65 $ per month), or 70$ service cost per week so you can switch the pc off and still get trades
2) 129$ for a license fee. a bit too high
3) TAX!!!!!!, currency exchange commis, admin costs, helpdesk telephone costs)
you are already 909$ in loss for the first year, due to the mentioned cost!!!!
Please let me know if my statements are true. Perhaps you can share more hidden costs that Forex does not reveal in their videos. I did want to buy FABturbo, however I saw your video and I am impressed by your experience, comments and advise not to buy this scam software/service.
Kind regards,
Michiel

Alan,
What other EA`s are you using in your account ?
Thanks
I’m also using the classic FAPS system (http://alansforexblog.com/2008/05/27/the-forex-autopilot-system-concluding-review/), forex autocash (this one is no longer available for purchase though), and also I’m demo testing 3 other systems (one of which is a custom EA I’m working on).
What about you? What’s your favorite EA?
I am also using Fapturbo scalper , but I am also looking for additional EA`s to trade in the same account.I know that you have tested Fapturbo long term in a demo.Would you recommend or use Fapturbo Long term Eur/USD with pre set settings in your personal live account ?
hello,
i have opened a demo account in ibfx, and put 5 charts,4 of scalper strategy and one of long term of eurousd.i would like to know if i can put so many charts in my live account as well or which one do u recomend?in demo account only eurousd is trading the other 4 scalper strategy did not trade at all can u pls help me with it.
also can u pls give me proper settings that i should put to yield maximum profits.
thank you
ayesha
You most certainly can put the same number of charts on your live account. The scalpers trade only when the spread is not above 5 pips I believe and when the “SimpleHeightFilter” is not preventing new trades. I believe most likely the scalpers aren’t trading because of high spreads.
FapTurbo scalper works best with low spreads on the EUR/GBP, GBP/CHF, USD/CAD, & EUR/CHF pairs. Try looking around and seeing if you can find a broker with better spreads for those pairs.
As for proper settings, I suggest you stick with the default ones.
And I’d also suggest that you NOT trade USD/CAD pair. I found it to be unprofitable for the long term.
Alan,
What are your thoughts about Fapturbo Long Term Strategy ? Do you recommend it ?
Thanks
Hi Alan!
Thanks for an excellent blog. Anyway I was just wondering if you have yet found a new broker where FAP works best?? I have also discovered that FAP works very well, the brokers are usually the problem!
Thanks man keep up the good work!
O yes and one more thing, I can’t seem to find anything about ECN brokers which fully support MT4 AND FAP on the FAP forum. Care to direct me to some useful info?
Thanks
There are only a few that support MT4. I can think of mainly two. One Fastbrokers:
http://www.fastbrokers.com/index.php?VA001
BUT only their MT4 Pro can be considered MT4 + ECN.
The other broker is MB Trading:
http://www.mbtrading.com
BUT with these guys the MT4 platform is still in beta. I know someone that works there and he told me that they plan to go live with the platform sometime soon. I’ll let everyone know when that happens via a blog posting.
Hi Alan,
I am the fan of Fapturbo. At first i managed to purchase the Fapturbo robot and test it in my demo account. Within 3 days i made a profit of close to 1k with 3k demo account.
When about to start of my real account, few days later when i about to enter the membership zone i was barred to go in due to the reason “i made refund”. That’s strange. But let’s forget this, eventually i am about to purchase the robot again but failed to do so. Cannot purchase via the clickbank link, any advise maybe you can share with me how to purchase it. I am located at Singapore.
Thanks.
What happens when you click on the purchase button on the fapturbo website? Does it spew out an error, and if so, what is it?
Hi Alan,
After submitted and input my credit card no and neccessary info, the click bank site show me unable to process your order.
But i’ve checked my credit card has sufficient limit and i’ve asked many friends credit card to try to purchase but failed to do so.
Hmm, I see…this is probably a clickbank screwup..do you have another credit card you can try? Let’s say if you originally tried VISA try again with a MASTERCARD (if you have it)…if not just try another VISA card (once again if you have it).
You can also try giving your credit card company a call to make sure nothing “odd” is happening with your card. Often times the credit card company will temporarily suspend the card if they suspect some kind of fraud.
Also they do support PayPal, so you can always give that a go if you have a a paypal account.
So you say you tried with a friend’s credit card and it still did not work?
Make sure you have javascript and cookies enabled.
Have also tried to get in touch with ClickBank? There could be a reason for the error that they might be able to explain. You said earlier that you got an error saying that “you made refund”..well have you? If you requested for a refund but tried to keep fapturbo it may be possible that somehow the fapturbo crew asked clickbank to “ban” you/your credit card from their system.
Most people do not realize one thing if they have been rejected by ClickBank. Most likely is that ClickBank have banned them. So they need to exercise their memory to see if they have returned way too many stuff bought on ClickBank. If so, ClickBank may have banned them and their credit card. They also can ban your PayPal account email address. Most likely this is the case.
Re: ECN. I can tell you honestly that ECN is way overrated. And a lot of newbies and/or traders who have never used ECN model, either in FX or stock day trading, have a huge misconception that is is more profitable and that it is never prone to spread widening. It is not. The spread will still widen; it is just that it is smaller than your regular FX brokers, non-dealing desk or otherwise. ECN is not for small time traders. Now, if you are trading 10 standard lots and want 5 PIP TPs. Then it is worth it. Otherwise, you won’t see any real difference.
Re #37: Yah that’s most likely the case. So like I said Richard try to get in touch with ClickBank to see whether this is the case or not.
Re 38: No it’s not more profitbale and I hope that people don’t misunderstand it this way. The only advantage to using an ECN is that there is NO conflict of interest between you and the broker.
The spread DOES widen, the spread on an ECN IS NOT FIXED – it varies according to the level of liquidity (ie how many active participants in the electronic trading network – ie ECN)
So yeah Jon, good point! Thanks for pointing it out.
Happy trading everyone!
Hi hi..
Do you know how can I get a refund for this Fabturbo?
I’ve wrote to the customer service but they have not reply me for more than 2weeks..
Please advised.
Hi Pearly. Yep I know how to get a refund.
First off never ask the retailer for a refund (in this case FapTurbo) as they will never respond most likely (think about it, a refund means a loss of money for them).
What you gotta do is go directly to ClickBank. Visit this link:
http://www.clickbank.com/csinquiry.html
Complete that form and you should be all set. Just make sure that you select “I would like to request a refund” in the drop down box next to “Subject of request”
New FAPTurbo version is out, now with support for the USD/CHF:
http://alansforexblog.com/2009/11/06/new-and-improved-fapturbo-with-the-usdchf-pair/
I am using liteforex.com for my broker, credit card deposit instant onto live account, yes their support does suck a wee bit but I found rather profitable, been using them for couple months now, no i haven’t tried withdrawing yet but they say with visa card is also instant 😉 good luck
