Hey everyone! Wow, it’s been almost forever since I posted on this blog. I’ve been busy with other occupations so this blog has taken a backseat to everything else in my life. I have decided to get slowly back into blogging about the forex market.
In particular this post is about me getting back into playing around with forex robots. I have used the popular FapTurbo forex robot in the past with some success. I’ve been using the 2.0 version on two live accounts for many months now, but never really gave much though about sharing that with anyone else. However I just leared that there is a new and supposedly improved version of this forex robot. I’ve got it on two live accounts with FxChoice and Capital City Markets (was Tallinex but Tallinex decided to dump all their Canadian clients sadly). So far I’m quite impressed with the performance of the 3.0 version of FapTurbo. It seems to have better entries into the market than the previous version. What I really like more though is the Bitcoin version of FapTurbo. Right now this version is super profitable.
I’ll make another update post once I have some performance data to share. My account is a bit cluttered with my own manual trades, but I’ll try to see if I can sort out the robot’s trades from my own.
If you want to find out more about this forex robot checkout the FapTurbo 3.0 homepage.
Note, you’ll be helping me out if you decide to purchase it. No pressure to do so of course but I’d just like to thank you in advance.
Cheers, and happy trading!
Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I started testing the new Fapturbo 2 forex robot. I have known about and used the fapturbo series of forex robots since they first came on the forex scene. I used to use their first version 1 product a while back, but when I took a break from forex I stopped trading with it as well. Now that I’m back I though it was worth a shot to revisit the old systems that I used to use. I’m glad to see that the fapturbo crew as still at it. This new version 2.0 remains unproven to me, so that’s why I decided to put it to the test on a live FX Choice account. It’s a humble $240 account that I’m using to test both the BTC version of Fapturbo and the standard forex currency pairs version.
I’ll post updated on how it goes. If you have any questions or comments leave them below. Thanks for dropping by my blog.
Hi everyone. So now that I’ve had Fapturbo 2.0 BTC active for a few days I has managed to close two successful trades. The crazy thing about trading bitcoin is the ridiculous volatility which is comparable to that of gold. This means that you can make a boatload of pips, but on the flip side you can also lose a boatload or the entire boat itself (ie your account) Thankfully fapturbo 2 btc has static stop loses in place, but just be careful with this and make sure you start off with a decent account size. I recommend nothing short of $1000.
I will keep you all updated on how my performance testing goes. Oh, by the way, I neglected to mention that this is a LIVE account I am testing the EA on. Here are the two closed trades according to my MT4 account history. At the moment fapturbo 2 btc has opened a long btc/usd position around the 753.xx mark. Hopefully it will close in profit, but looking at the charts I believe we are in either a downtrend or a severe retracement.
Here are my trades so far:
2013.12.13 12:51 sell 0.01 bitcoin 962.00 1144.00 835.00 2013.12.13 14:33 925.13 -0.75 0.00 0.00 36.87
2013.12.16 11:28 sell 0.01 bitcoin 870.49 1016.49 779.49 2013.12.16 15:24 831.16 -0.75 0.00 0.00 39.33
-1.50 0.00 0.00 76.20
Closed P/L: 74.70
Yep, it was bound to happen, the latest version of the popular fapturbo forex robot now trades the hottest form of money around – bitcoin! It’s not the first bitcoin trading robot, but it will probably become one of the most well known. Fapturbo 2 trades both forex and bitcoin by the way. I got me a copy yesterday and I intend to test only the bitcoin trading strategy for now. Right now I’m waiting for my broker to verify my ID documents, so once they do that I’ll deposit $100 which will be my test account money for now. If fapturbo 2 performs well I will increase my deposit.
I will keep you all up-to-date on how my performance testing progresses. For now though, if you want to find out more about fapturbo 2 please click this link to visit their homepage.
*By the way, if you instead want to buy gear to mine bitcoins instead of trade them I would suggest you visit my recommended bitcoin mining hardware manufacturer – KNCMiner*
Hi everyone. A while back I wrote a post saying that I started testing the Forex 1000 Pips EA. So after some time testing the EA I think I can confidently come to a personal conclusion regarding this EA. I say “personal conclusion” because I was not able to test it for an extended period of time. On the date of 04-14-2013 I set it up on a demo FXCM mt4 account with a starting balance of $5000 (USD). My demo account expired on 08-02-2013, and at that point my account balance was at $5093. There was a floating trade on the GBP/USD pair that at the time the account expired was at -167$. However the good news is that this gbp/usd position was opened at 1.55xx so had the account not expired it would’ve hit take profit for sure as gbp/usd is not at the 1.60xx range.
So, basically this EA works somewhat but given that after several months I barely made much profit I’d say it’s not an ideal performer to put it politely. If you go to this EA’s homepage it appears it’s no longer available for sale. Instead its creator (a supposed “Rita” woman) is selling some scalper EA. I’m not sure if it’s worth spending more money to test her newest creation. Since it’s no longer available for sale I can’t give a definite buy or not buy recommendation. I would just say “move on” is the best review conclusion.
For now I think I will look for other EAs to test.
Happy trading everyone, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Hi everyone. It has been such a long time since I’ve taken upon myself to test a commercial expert advisor (aka forex robot), but recently as I was helping a client of forex vps nirvana (a perfect place to host this and other EAs) setup a forex robot called “Forex 1000 Pips” and I got this flashback of when I used to play around with EAs like some obsessive compulsive treasure hunter. Back then I used to have a lot more spare time – these days not so much (you could probably tell by the sad fact that I don’t update my blog so often). Sorting out the good from the bad is not easy and very time consuming. I came across a few good EAs, but the majority were junk. Anyways, before I go on a rant I can probably boil this story down to the following steps:
1) I noticed this oddly named Forex 1000 pips EA
2) Did some googling
3) Become curious to see how it performs
4) Grabbed a copy
5) Slapped it on a demo account.
The rest is essentially only a matter of time. For now I’m running Forex 1000 Pips on a demo FXCM UK account. This EA runs on the EUR/USD and GBP/USD currency pairs – both on the H1 time frame.
I will continue testing it and report my findings here. If it works out ok on demo I got a modest live account I intend to use it on.
Wish me luck!
Oh, and if you have some opinions about this EA you’d like to share feel free to leave a comment.
Hello fellow traders. This is the followup to my first performance update (available here) of the Forex Demolition EA. I will keep this brief as there isn’t much to discuss. The gist of it is that Forex Demolition is still making me money. The market has been a bit rough lately so I haven’t had as many trades as I would like but the at least I’m not losing money. Like I said previously this EA trades with the trend so if the market is choppy it’s just not going to trade at all. It plays it safe and that’s fine by me.
So now my live test MB Trading account has so far a total profit of 184%. The monthly return for this month is 3.48%.
Now considering the good performance I am thinking of opening an account with a different broker and see how that one goes. So far it’s between MIG Bank or FinFX. As to which I’ll choose I’m not sure yet, but eventually I’ll make a decision.
That does it for this brief performance update. Stay tuned to this blog (or subscribe) and I’ll keep you up to date on how this EA performs.
My fapturbo saga continues. A while back I made a post about how the fapturbo team have improved performance via better settings. The bad news is that at the time those customized settings were only available to people who would open up an account with their preferred broker – FX Choice. Essentially you had to sign-up through their IB (introducing broker) link which means that no only do they get money from you when you pay for fapturbo itself but they also get regular commissions from FX Choice for as long as you continue to use that broker. But anyways, I was expecting the fapturbo team to eventually release these custom settings to everyone (as they said they would) that is a rightful owner of the product.
That has not happened!
So while I waited for them to release the fx choice optimized settings to everyone I thought I’d just run the default settings on FX Choice. The end result was not impressive at all. My demo $50K account is now at $43K after 3 months of testing.
So the conclusion is that I guess if you want at least the chance of making profits with fapturbo you have to give in and open up an account with their preferred broker and through their IB link.
I’m going to ask the fapturbo team to let me use the optimized settings on a DEMO FX Choice account but I doubt they’d be willing to do that. It’s worth a shot though as at this point I can’t open a live test account with that broker.
I’ll keep you up to date if I succeed in getting this accomplished. If I do I will restart my demo testing.
Until next time,
